I thought this was a fairly interesting article. I am an art major so things that have to do with are and history interest me. I wasnt so keen on the legal terms used, but understood the gist of the article. I think that the point the man that was being convicted made was something that most people don't think about right from the start. Yes it seemed as if he was stealing artifacts, but the fact that he said he had saved precious art that would have been eventually ruined later is something that the judges need to consider. Art from years and year ago are so interesting and mean so much to people who try to make more sense of life before us all. All and all I think that his findings and the fact he did save artifacts before they were ruined means something and should be considered while on trial.
This was a pretty interesting article. I had no idea that art smuggling was such a large industry. I feel somewhat bad for all the people getting into legal situations over this though. If it was true that many of these articles were going to be destroyed and were saved by that man stealing them instead so be it. It seems like people are getting in trouble for breaking a law that no one cared about until recently.
